One thing you might not know about me is that I love dining out, and right after shopping advice, my friends know that I am also the right person to go to for New York restaurants tips and suggestions.
So when I was given the opportunity to give away to my readers a prize of a $50 certificate to a New York restaurant, I was happy! :)
The restaurant is Bruno Jamais, located in the Upper East Side.
And while I have to admit that I have never personally dined there, it didn't take much to convince me that Mr. Jamais must know what he's doing. His resume lists him as the Maitre D at the famed Restaurant Daniel for 10 years. Enough said.
Daniel is one of my favorite restaurants, if not the favorite restaurant in New York. And working so closely with Daniel Boulud for 10 years will definitely help into shaping you into a great restaurateur.
With the management in the right hands, the next most important thing is the food, of course!
Well, it looks like Bruno Jamais also has the right chef.
In fact recently, Bruno enlisted John Keller as the new chef. Keller's formidable experience includes Nobu and Le Bernardin (another one of my favorites!).
The menu is French with Asian influences and (are you ready to get hungry?) lists appetizers as Popcorn Shrimp, Lobster “Brulee” and Beets and Goat Cheese.
And entrees as Filet Mignon and Scallop 4 ways (1. flash seared with ginger and scallion; 2. American caviar, meuniere sauce, asparagus; 3. wild mushroom, bacon vinaigrette; 4. parsnip puree & truffle sauce)!
But the one thing that caught my eye is in the dessert list: "Floating Island". I love this dessert, and it is so hard to find!
But the Bruno Jamais experience doesn't end with the meal: every night from Monday through Saturday after the dinner crowd has finished their meal, the restaurant transforms into a supper club with DJ music and live bands.
If you want to win a $50 certificate to enjoy Bruno Jamais Restaurant, all you have to do is leave a comment with your favorite dessert on this post. :)
The contest will run all day today until midnight (EST).
I will announce the winner tomorrow morning. Good Luck!

My favorite dessert is Floating Island, and I would love to win a certificate to Bruno Jamais!
the sticky toffee pudding from tea&sympathy in greenwich village. my friends and i call it death pudding because it's like we've died and gone to heaven when we eat it.
My all time favorite desserts come from Payard. But floating Island is a dessert that I haven't had since I went to a small bistro in Brooklyn a few years ago and I must admit I CRAVE IT! Hopefully it will bring back some good memories from then! I tried to make it a couple of time at home but failed maybe I can enjoy it one more time from a pro.
My favorite dessert is Tiramisu...decadents and delicious...
